Griffin's Friends has come to know that small acts of kindness can provide the relief that children and families need in times of greatest turmoil. Countless expressions of hope and support result from Griffin's Friends activities each year.

For example:

• Griffin's Friends sponsors holiday parties, trips to stage performances and sporting events, an annual picnic, family getaway weekends, and in hospital entertainment, including massage and music therapy.

• Griffin's Friends underwrites the purchase of arts and crafts supplies, toys, computers and computer games, videos and other things needed for recreation in the Children's Hospital and Clinic.

• Griffin's Friends has procured special wheel chairs, durable medical equipment and assistive devices for children in treatment at Baystate Children's Hospital.

• Griffin's Friends offers the annual Max Preston scholarship for a local high school student.

• Griffin's Friends volunteers organize regular activities on the Playdeck at the Children's Hospital.

• Griffin's Friends funds a program coordinator whose sole function is the enhancement of activities for Hospital and Clinic children.

• Griffin's Friends will endeavor to provide emergency assistance in critical times of need.

• Griffin's Friends is exploring providing long term stability for its financial supports through an endowment or other fund.
