Griffin’s Friends is a local nonprofit organization dedicated to providing support to children stricken with cancer. Founded in 1994 in Springfield, Massachusetts, Griffin’s Friends is named for Griffin D. Kelleher who passed away at 14 months of age after a courageous battle with cancer. His legacy is this special organization which supports, in a unique way, children in treatment for cancer and their families.

Griffin’s Friends has created a fund which is endowed by activities like the Marathon Challenge. Contributions are used in a myriad of ways to make the lives of these sick children more tolerable. Their hospital environment and Play Deck have been enhanced by the purchase of toys and games and the installation of child-friendly furniture and decor. Activities and entertainment such as holiday parties, trips and picnics, are provided to bring a little bit of happiness to the lives of these children at an otherwise difficult time. Countless acts of kindness are supported by the good works of Griffin’s Friends.

The goal of Griffin's Friends is simple and appealing:

To bring moments of joy to courageous kids.

This message conveys our aspiration for all of our efforts, whether event planning, fundraising, or Marathon running. We strive to ease the hardships of children in treatment for cancer and the families who love and support them.
